This was totally hysterical! lol I had
to pause it a few times so i can come up for air and catch
my breath from the comedy parts . I only did get to see 14
out of 25 but will continue watching later. A piece of work that you should, indeed, be proud of! Well done! A very interesting interpretation/juxtaposition/exegesis of a complex scriptural puzzle. I really love the parts toward the middle where you talked about CiCi, Popcorn, and how important dogs have been to your thinking on these matters. [And I like what you've done MUCH better than the Zeitgeist film, because you actually have said, in the film itself, what you're about, which that film did not...or at least I didn't feel that it did so sufficiently.] So, yeah...good job!
I AM FLOORED. I'm quite literally awestruck at what you've put together here, how well you've presented it, and how much extra shit you've found that I had no idea about. Where's that Micah 6:8 been all my life? I have always understood the precept of "And the last shall be first" -- but you added another dimension: the non-believers. Being the Southern Baptist boy I was, non-believers weren't first OR last in line -- they just weren't in line at all. This has always been a bit of a contradiction to me, but not one that I've ever challenged. Well, you challenged it, slammed it to the mat, tore out its beating heart before its own eyes. Superb! I'm grateful for your putting this together. It's quite a work.
"This is a great resource for fellow atheists. Thank you!" I'm actually not an atheist. I'm pagan, and have more gods than most people, ironically. But I can tell you, considering how most people follow their gods, I find myself feeling more friendship to atheists than I do believers. Thank you for your comment!
Ray, No, thank you... I'm just doing what I live for is all. ------ I think you're probably going to get yourself lynched by the time it's all over. But that's because people can't handle the truth, and this is one hell of a truth. I didn't see it coming! And you're right, it's hard to believe people have gotten this wrong all this time! Yes, it's scary, but it's actually easy to see how they'd have gotten wrong out of something as big and confusing as the Bible, and for centuries man has been discouraged from looking for truth anywhere but from the churches that said they were teaching from that book, but very few people had a copy of it or had the education to be able to read from it. Since its mass-publication, I think it's taken us awhile to get to the bottom of the book, but we're getting there. ------------
I can see
clearly that you're not a professional author, but I can see
your heart-felt effort, and with a little professional
tweeking, I feel you'll have a masterpiece here that could
shake the world up. You are correct, and I do in fact leave it open for much critiquing, for I really do feel that readers will give me the best advice possible. As for the riddle, remember... life wasn't a riddle until we made it one. Before that, it was a Mystery, and a beautiful one at that. ------ Before I read this, my faith was certain, and my knowledge was wavering. Now my faith is in peril, but my knowledge is strong. I realize I've had them prioritized incorrectly. You're correct. Why kill creation to show love to the Creator? It makes no sense, and yet the constant fight of "primitive" peoples against globalization does indeed look just like what Christianity looks like on paper. Turning it into a religion not only defeats the purpose, it's just destructively stupid! You said it well. It is destructive and stupid, but it is definitely what is taught and what is encouraged by not just our faith systems, but our education and our culture. It's not fun to point it out at all. |
I just couldn't watch it, sorry. The
first 20 minutes seemed to be all about what you didn't like
about various Christian thinkings, and reading biblical
verses. I just don't have the time to be against the
teachings of a religion I am not part of. Reading the
comments here you seem to talk about more of your personal
revelations later, and maybe if you were to edit a version
that was more focused on that I would be able to watch it. I could do just a dry version, yes. But I also wanted to tell the story of what I'd experienced. I feel it gives more power to the story. You can fast forward to the part after I talk about CiCi, but really, people devote 3 and a half hours of their life to Titanic, or countless hours to watching porn... something of substance seems to me not that much to ask. My goal isn't to destroy religion, but to convince religion to please stop destroying. I don't see why anybody should have an issue with that. Not only do you stray so far from what the Bible really means, but it makes absolutely no logical sense at all, so I really cannot comment on it. Sorry, but if someone expects me to actually take what they say seriously, they should really learn how to write and reason correctly. An education is available to all who would want to make use of it.
I
stray from the Bible, so I stray from all possible logic.
Nice. To you I should recommend an education on the fact
that there ARE in fact many people who live in many
different ways than YOURS and are quite intelligent, thank
you very much!
There is education everywhere on this earth. I disagree with a number of your interpretations, but since you're clearly not interested in thoughtful debate but rather in telling us how stupid and uninformed we all are, I'll just say that I think this quiz would be much more effective in making me want to read your book if it didn't so patronizingly assume that I have never read the Gospels and am totally unfamiliar with their content... A debate? Why would I want to sit and debate with you in order to battle for my right to do or be anything? All you'll say to me is how I'm wrong if I don't go in accordance with your scriptures. I've debated before. The whole world has done too damned much debating. Rights don't come from debates, or laws, or rules, or words written on pieces of paper. ------------ i hope that you will one day judge christianity on the merits of Jesus, and not on the failures of humans. there is no group or belief that could withstand that scrutiny. even the non-religious are inconsitent and poor representatives of what they claim to believe. Christianity, I'm sorry to have to tell you, has done a massive amount of judging unfairly to others. It is being judged as it has judged, and there is no allowance for whining on the part of its defenders, especially when they continue on with the very same mindset over and over again, as is obviously the case. The few who actually have the "merits of Jesus" are those that followers of Christianity usually reject and spit on. Judgment by any standard should've never happened, but you folks started it, so I don't want to hear it. ------ Your book is dirty and crooked. You say you've done all this research, but you clearly haven't, otherwise how could you have gotten so much wrong? I cannot believe how sick your interpretations are. I'll pray for you, because you will have to stand before your maker one day, and you're going to have a lot to answer for here.
Of course I will. Whereas you
have nothing to worry about because you said your little
magic spell on an altar, right? So now you can flame, judge
and destroy everyone everywhere and have nothing to worry
about, right? What I wouldn't give for the luxury of being
so blind about these things, but then I'd be carelessly
ruining the world for future generations and species too. |
